About the role
Datacom is seeking a Product Account Manager to join its Product Sales and Account Management team in Wellington. You will build long‑term client relationships, drive revenue growth across major accounts, and ensure strategic alignment with customer needs.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and oversee enterprise‑level support and service activities for assigned clients.
- Maintain full customer satisfaction and deliver measurable business value.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to meet revenue targets and sales quotas.
- Manage portfolio revenue, growth, productivity and profitability while deepening customer engagement.
- Lead negotiations with clients, Datacom, and third‑party organisations.
- Collaborate with sales and support teams to showcase Datacom offerings and identify expansion opportunities.
- Conduct product demonstrations, prepare proposals, tenders and bids, and manage account plans.
- Maintain product training and certifications relevant to assigned accounts.
- Coordinate internal teams to deliver outcomes that strengthen and retain client relationships.
- Promote a principle‑driven health and safety culture and ensure compliance with company policy.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience and 3 years of account management experience.
- Proven track record of opportunity management and forecasting using Salesforce.
- Experience managing people and teams.
- Strong financial management skills with an understanding of cost versus profitability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasive sales abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Science, Engineering, Economics or a related discipline.
