People & Culture Manager – Maternity Leave Cover

About the role

We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to join our leadership team on a fixed‑term basis, covering maternity leave. The role supports both Novotel Rotorua Lakeside and ibis Rotorua, delivering HR excellence across two well‑established hospitality brands within the Accor network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning for both hotels.
• Provide employment relations and HR advice to managers.
• Manage performance, development and employee engagement initiatives.
• Support learning and development across the properties.
• Ensure compliance with New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Oversee HR administration, reporting and workforce planning.
• Drive a positive workplace culture aligned with Accor values.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Human Resources or People & Culture management role.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR practices.
• Experience managing employee relations, recruitment and performance management processes.
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong organisational skills.
• Hotel experience is highly desirable.
