Maintenance Electrician – Night Shift

About the role

This hands‑on Maintenance Electrician position supports high‑speed production machinery in a large‑scale manufacturing environment. You will carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on a permanent night‑shift roster (Monday‑Thursday) with long weekends every week.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on industrial machinery, automated systems and PLC‑controlled equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during night‑shift operations.

Required profile

• Current NZ Electrical Registration and Practising Licence (EWRB).
• Strong fault‑finding capability on industrial and production equipment.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or similar fast‑paced environments.
• Ability to work independently during night‑shift hours.
• Clear communication skills and a team‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• NZ Electrical Registration (EWRB).
• PLC experience, preferably with Allen Bradley or Siemens systems.
• Proficiency in reading electrical drawings.
• Fault‑finding on industrial machinery.
