Health & Safety Business Partner – Aged Care

About the role

Heritage Lifecare is seeking two experienced Health & Safety Business Partners to support its aged‑care homes across Wellington and Christchurch. This full‑time, on‑site role focuses on enabling operational leaders to embed robust health and safety practices and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to Care Home Managers, Village Managers and other operational leaders.
• Coach and mentor teams to strengthen health‑safety capability and accountability.
• Translate strategic safety priorities into practical site‑level action plans.
• Support and embed frameworks such as the Critical Risk Framework, Contractor Management Framework, Injury Management Framework, Safety Management System and Participation & Engagement Framework.
• Lead risk identification, workplace inspections, audits and assurance processes.
• Provide guidance on incident investigations, corrective actions, injury management and return‑to‑work processes.
• Analyse safety data and trends to identify emerging risks and drive targeted improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety, preferably within aged‑care or similar multi‑site environments.
• Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills with senior operational leaders.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture focused on participation and continuous learning.
