Health and Safety Trainer

About the role

Safety 'n Action is seeking a full‑time Health and Safety Trainer to join our hybrid team across New Zealand. You will deliver engaging, NZQA‑accredited training to a wide range of learners, both in‑person and remotely, helping organisations meet health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate NZQA‑accredited health and safety courses for diverse industry groups.
• Tailor training content to client‑specific needs and scenarios.
• Provide expert guidance on current health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Ensure training delivery complies with industry and legislative requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, learners, and internal teams.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in health and safety legislation and training methodologies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in health and safety practices and relevant regulations.
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent certification (highly desirable).
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and engage diverse learner groups.
• Experience delivering effective safety training across multiple industries.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client and learner relationship building.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities to adapt training to specific contexts.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in education, training, or health and safety.
• Flexibility to work both on‑site and remotely.
