Head of School – Health (Academic Leadership)

About the role

The School of Acute and Primary Health at Auckland University of Technology seeks a visionary Head of School to provide strategic academic and people leadership for a multidisciplinary health school of more than 70 staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic and people leadership for the School of Acute and Primary Health, overseeing more than 70 staff.
• Shape faculty strategy and culture as a member of the Dean’s leadership team.
• Deliver real‑world health impact through education, research and partnership initiatives.
• Strengthen research capability, programme quality and external reputation of the School.
• Promote staff wellbeing and an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, complex academic groups in health or related disciplines.
• Strong track record of academic excellence, operational effectiveness and people management.
• Commitment to diversity, Māori and Pacific knowledge, and inclusive leadership.
• Ability to work at senior university level and influence faculty‑wide strategy.
