Flight Analysis Engineer I

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking a Flight Analysis Engineer I to support mission analysis, flight safety, new vehicle evaluation, and recovery operations for its Electron and upcoming Neutron launch vehicles. You will work across internal teams and external agencies to ensure safe and reliable space missions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop flight analysis methods, tools, and simulations for trajectory, debris, re‑entry, and mission risk.
• Build and maintain in‑house software using Python and C++.
• Process large data sets with statistical models and parallel computing.
• Support launch operations, safety integration, test activities, and on‑console monitoring.
• Prepare detailed documentation, including flight safety data packages, licensing documents, and SOPs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in engineering analysis, numerical modeling, simulation, or statistics.
• Strong understanding of launch vehicle flight dynamics, orbital mechanics, and GNC.
• Familiarity with configuration management, version control, and technical writing.
