About the role

The Director Core Business Applications leads the management and delivery of critical digital products that keep frontline services running. This senior leadership position is accountable for the performance, reliability, and delivery of core enterprise systems supporting both frontline and corporate operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery and performance of core enterprise systems supporting frontline and corporate operations.
• Oversee full product lifecycle for platforms such as the Integrated Offender Management System and SAP.
• Develop and execute technology roadmaps and outcome‑focused delivery plans aligned with strategic objectives.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and partners, guiding investment and prioritisation decisions.
• Provide strategic direction, mentor senior leaders and promote consistent delivery practices across teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior leader with extensive experience delivering complex digital products in a public sector environment.
• Strong track record of shaping, managing and delivering long‑term roadmaps while balancing competing priorities and risk.
• Excellent stakeholder leadership, able to influence at Executive Leadership Team level.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into practical delivery strategies.
• Experienced people manager who coaches and motivates managers and teams.
