Digital SEO Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Digital SEO Specialist to join Global Wave Group’s marketing team in Albany, Auckland. The role focuses on technical SEO and on‑page optimisation, ensuring our websites are search‑engine friendly and support the content team with data‑driven guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct keyword research and build keyword maps to guide content creation.
• Write SEO briefs for writers, specifying primary and secondary keywords, search intent and on‑page recommendations.
• Identify and resolve technical SEO issues such as indexation, crawl budget, site speed, structured data, canonical tags, hreflang, redirects and XML sitemaps.
• Audit website health regularly using SEO tools and produce clear, action‑oriented reports for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Monitor rankings, clicks, impressions and CTR, and recommend improvements for key pages.
• Collaborate with developers to implement technical fixes, create tickets and verify deployments.
• Support marketing campaigns by ensuring landing pages and funnels are search‑friendly.
• Stay up‑to‑date with search‑engine algorithm updates and communicate risks to the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in SEO, with a strong focus on technical and on‑page optimisation.
• Solid understanding of how search engines crawl, index and rank websites.
• Ability to translate analytical data into clear recommendations for non‑technical audiences.
