Demand Planner

About the role

The Warehouse Group is seeking a Demand Planner to join its retail planning team. The role will use advanced machine‑learning tools to forecast product demand across New Zealand stores, ensuring the right items are available at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Support customer missions by maximising availability of continuity lines while balancing demand and stock‑flow efficiency.
• Own unit‑level demand forecasting and manage inventory through RELEX, addressing forecast errors and days‑of‑cover exceptions.
• Lead promotional forecast meetings with buyers, planners and suppliers to optimise stock flow and resolve blockers.
• Analyse weekly clearance proposals and provide insights to commercial planners for optimal commercial outcomes.
• Monitor seasonal impacts, long‑range trends, weather and events, adjusting forecasts and communicating exceptions to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Commercially savvy with a strong analytical mindset.
• Detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Curious, continuously improving and able to translate data insights into actions.
• Confident in stakeholder engagement and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.).
• Experience using RELEX demand‑planning software.
