Data Centre Site Facility Manager (Rosedale, Auckland)

About the role

Datacom’s Data Centre team is looking for a Site Facility Manager to ensure the continuous, high‑performance operation of its Rosedale data centre. This hands‑on position oversees all mechanical, electrical, fire, security, and building systems, supporting 24/7 mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee on‑site data centre systems – mechanical, electrical, fire, security, building, grounds, monitoring, and cabling infrastructure.
• Maintain zero downtime and high performance of supporting infrastructure.
• Lead maintenance programmes and implement a robust change‑management process.
• Manage risk associated with changes, conduct peer‑reviewed task analyses.
• Act as escalation point for facilities incidents and support 24x7 engineers.
• Collaborate with Operations Enablement and Facilities Management on capacity planning.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain the facility risk register and ACMS system.
• Participate in on‑call roster (up to six 12‑hour shifts per year) and drive innovation in facility operations.

Required profile

• Background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Management System (BMS) controls.
• 4+ years of facilities management experience in a complex, multi‑faceted managed services environment.
• Proven experience managing data centre infrastructure and maintenance programmes.
• Strong understanding of data centre operations, risk management, and health & safety compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to communicate technical issues to diverse audiences.
