Business Development Manager

About the role

LEAP is expanding its New Zealand sales team and is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new‑business growth across the region. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to shape and execute the go‑to‑market strategy for our legal practice management software.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a robust pipeline through networking, cold outreach, warm introductions and referrals.
• Guide prospects through the buying journey from initial conversation to signed contract.
• Deliver compelling, in‑person or online demonstrations of LEAP for 3‑plus user accounts.
• Track and report activity metrics and KPIs using Salesforce.
• Collaborate with post‑sales delivery teams to ensure smooth handover and onboarding.
• Execute independent and joint activity plans to achieve regional commercial targets.
• Represent LEAP at conferences, roadshows, exhibitions and networking events within the legal sector.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling software solutions in complex, competitive environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to choose the right channel (email, phone, face‑to‑face) to drive outcomes.
• Deep understanding of the legal technology landscape and market dynamics.
• High attention to detail and ability to grasp complex product propositions.
• Problem‑solving mindset with consideration for stakeholder impact.
• Commercially minded and able to prioritize collective effort.
