Architectural Designer – Commercial Projects (Christchurch)

About the role

Kirk Roberts Consulting is seeking an experienced Architectural Graduate to join its Christchurch office. You will work on a variety of commercial, industrial and land‑development projects, taking ownership of documentation and delivery from concept through to construction completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare architectural drawings, specifications and related reports for concept, consent, tender and construction stages.
• Produce and process application, tender and construction documentation.
• Conduct quality‑assurance checks and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Carry out site construction observations, inspections and produce observation reports.
• Collaborate with senior team members while managing your own workload independently.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in a New Zealand architectural practice or engineering consultancy.
• Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Experience on commercial or similar projects and familiarity with NZ Building Code, RMA and NZS 3604.
• Strong ability to work autonomously, take initiative and manage multiple responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
• Experience with rendering and visualisation tools such as Twinmotion and Photoshop.
