Account Director (Media)

About the role

We are seeking a Media Account Director to lead the client relationship for our Westpac partnership. In this senior role you will combine strategy, creativity, digital expertise and commercial insight to generate measurable business impact. You will act as a trusted partner to the client and a guiding anchor for the internal team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated media strategies that align with client business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with creative and digital teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Manage day‑to‑day client communications, presenting insights and recommendations at senior level.
• Monitor performance metrics and optimise media spend for maximum ROI.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a low‑ego, collaborative culture.
• Drive commercial outcomes by translating media investment into business results.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading media relationships within an agency or consulting environment.
• Deep knowledge of the New Zealand media landscape across traditional and digital channels.
• Strategic thinker who stays close to delivery and performance data.
• Confident presenter and influencer with senior‑level stakeholders.
• Strong commercial instincts and ability to link media spend to business outcomes.
• Proven leadership capability and genuine interest in developing others.
