Yard & Customer Service Team Member

About the role

Hynds is seeking a hands‑on, safety‑focused team member to keep the branch running smoothly. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, operating a forklift, and delivering excellent service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks safely and accurately.
• Operate the forklift to move, store, and load/unload product.
• Maintain a tidy, organised, and well‑stocked yard.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any issues.
• Support stocktakes, cycle counts, and stock adjustments.
• Assist customers with orders, queries, and product advice.
• Receive and check inbound goods against paperwork.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents.
• Help maintain branch appearance and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence with F endorsement.
• Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Great customer service skills and a can‑do attitude.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move products up to 20 kg.
• Reliable team player who takes ownership.

Required skills

• Forklift operation.
• Class 1 NZ driver’s licence (F endorsement).
