Workshop Manager – Automotive Services

About the role

Lead a busy independent workshop, manage a dedicated team, and help drive the day‑to‑day success of a growing automotive business in Hamilton Central.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure timely completion of jobs.
• Schedule work, allocate resources and maintain high quality standards.
• Manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability and cost control.
• Supervise technicians, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Handle customer inquiries and provide clear communication about service status.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements.
• Develop staff through training and performance feedback.
• Control workshop budget and contribute to profitability.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication with customers and staff.
• Automotive experience helpful but not essential.
• Willingness to learn technical aspects of workshop operations.
• Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to safety.

• Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 NZD per year.
