Wedding and Social Events Executive

About the role

As the Event Sales and Planning Executive – Weddings & Social at the prestigious Park Hyatt Auckland, you will lead the selling and planning of weddings and social events for the hotel. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Auckland’s CBD and focuses on delivering an exceptional, personalized experience for discerning guests.

Key responsibilities

• Solicit, negotiate and manage all weddings and social events, as well as additional events as demand requires.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective and confirmed clients.
• Oversee accounts receivable, handling invoicing, payment processing and resolution of billing issues.
• Coordinate the annual Park Hyatt Auckland Wedding Showcase.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to keep the hotel’s event portfolio competitive.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations.
• Collaborate with hotel management to align wedding goals with overall business objectives.
• Develop the annual wedding strategy, set KPIs and track performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar wedding role, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets and delivering outstanding customer service.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities to build lasting relationships with guests and vendors.
• Experience working cross‑functionally to balance client expectations with operational feasibility.
• In‑depth knowledge of current wedding trends and best practices.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends.
• Relevant qualifications in events or weddings.
• Valid working rights in New Zealand.
