Video and Multimedia Producer

About the role

The University of Canterbury is seeking a creative and technically skilled Video and Multimedia Producer to craft compelling visual stories that showcase the university’s research, education and community impact. Working within the Marketing, Communications and Events team, you will produce high‑quality video and multimedia content for a range of audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Produce engaging video and multimedia assets for marketing campaigns, websites, social media and events.
• Plan, script, storyboard, film and edit content from concept through to final delivery.
• Capture high‑quality video, photography, audio and lighting using professional production equipment.
• Manage projects through all production stages, ensuring timelines and brand standards are met.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Production Team to align content with strategic priorities.
• Explore new tools, formats and techniques to continuously improve content quality.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in video or multimedia production, preferably in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to the university’s values, inclusive work environment and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
