Vehicle Integration Technician - Avionics

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking an Avionic Integration Technician to join its Vehicle Integration team. In this hands‑on position you will install avionics, mechanical components, wiring harnesses and high‑voltage batteries on the Electron launch vehicle, supporting both production and launch schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Install and route avionics and mechanical components on the Electron launch vehicle.
• Terminate wiring harnesses, perform high‑precision crimping and soldering tasks.
• Integrate high‑voltage battery packs and ensure compliance with oxygen‑service cleanliness standards.
• Conduct inspections to verify workmanship quality and adherence to engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with both avionics and mechanical technicians to meet launch timelines.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified in a relevant industry.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in precision avionic or mechanical assembly.
• Demonstrated ability to work to exacting standards, including cleanroom or oxygen‑service environments.
• Strong visual acuity for detailed inspection work.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturing instructions and technical drawings.
