UX Designer

About the role

We are looking for a UX Designer who thrives on research‑led, evidence‑based design and has a natural flair for UI that elevates digital experiences from merely usable to truly polished. You will work for a well‑known New Zealand organisation whose digital channels serve customers nationwide, shaping journeys that millions rely on every day.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct discovery and research through interviews, testing, and behavioural analysis to uncover real friction points.
• Design end‑to‑end journeys, map flows, clarify information architecture and simplify decision points.
• Create interaction designs and prototypes, from wireframes to clickable models, to align stakeholders.
• Apply UI craft where it matters, refining layouts, hierarchy, accessibility and interaction patterns for a sharp, consistent experience.
• Iterate and optimise based on user feedback, performance data and live production insights.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in UX fundamentals, research, interaction design and usability principles.
• Confidence shaping and improving complete digital journeys.
• Deep understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
• Comfort working in ambiguous situations, asking the right questions and moving work forward.
• Experience collaborating in agile, cross‑functional squads and communicating design rationale clearly.
• Familiarity with sprint‑based delivery.
