Urban Bus Driver – Casual (Cambridge, NZ)

About the role

Join Tranzit Coachlines as a casual urban bus driver operating services for the Waipa region. Based out of the Kihikihi or Leamington depots, you will transport passengers safely across Cambridge and surrounding areas while representing a company with a century of experience in New Zealand transport.

Key responsibilities

• Operate urban bus routes on a scheduled basis, adhering to timetables and safety protocols.
• Provide courteous customer service, assisting passengers with inquiries and boarding.
• Conduct pre‑trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with dispatch and fellow drivers to ensure smooth service delivery.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Experience in customer‑facing roles is preferred.
• Safe and confident driving style with a focus on passenger safety.
• Valid NZ residency or work permit.
• Willingness to undergo police vetting, drug and alcohol testing.

Required skills

• Class 2 driver licence (preferred).
• Class 4 licence and P endorsement are advantageous.
