Unit Operations Manager – Education Services

About the role

The Unit Operations Manager will lead the delivery of catering and related services for Kristin School in Albany, Auckland. This position combines day‑to‑day operational oversight with the planning and execution of high‑profile school events, ensuring safe, professional, and high‑quality service for the school community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily catering operations and the execution of multiple functions and events.
• Manage service delivery across several operational sites, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and Compass Group standards.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, building trusted relationships and ensuring clear communication for events.
• Drive commercial outcomes through budgeting, labour planning, stock control, and cost management.
• Lead, coach, and develop teams while championing health, safety, food safety, and environmental compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing service delivery across multiple sites in line with contractual and organisational standards.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver multiple functions and events.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a track record of motivating high‑performing teams.
• Sound commercial acumen, including budget and cost management.
• Highly organised, adaptable, calm under pressure, with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
