Unit Coordinator – Hospital Unit (RN)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead the Hospital Unit at William Sanders Retirement Village in Devonport, Auckland. The full‑time Unit Coordinator will work Tuesday to Saturday, providing hands‑on leadership, overseeing personalised care plans and ensuring high‑quality clinical outcomes for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Set clear expectations, coach and develop the nursing team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.
• Oversee personalised care planning and clinical documentation, including interRAI assessments.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive environment and build trusted relationships with residents, families and health professionals.
• Manage rostering, workflow and resource use while balancing quality care and efficiency.
• Stay visible across shifts, providing direct support and leadership.
• Contribute to the leadership team alongside Clinical and Village Managers.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse registration with a valid APC.
• Experience in a senior RN or nursing leadership role.
• Willingness or existing competency in interRAI assessments.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, communication and coaching abilities.
• Kindness, compassion and a passion for resident wellbeing.

Required skills

• interRAI competency (assessment and documentation).
