Trainer – Learning & Development (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Ministry of Justice’s Operations and Service Delivery (OSD) Learning and Development team is seeking a Trainer for a 12‑month fixed‑term position in Auckland. You will design and deliver consistent, high‑quality learning programmes that support OSD business groups, using face‑to‑face, remote and digital formats.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate approved group, one‑on‑one and “just‑in‑time” operational training programmes to agreed standards.
• Provide face‑to‑face, remote and digital learning support, creating environments that reflect adult‑learning principles.
• Conduct in‑course and post‑course evaluations and analyse results for continuous improvement.
• Develop resources for managers and staff and assist in creating policies, processes and support mechanisms for training.
• Collaborate with learning designers and Technical Coaches to ensure consistency across learning products.
• Travel as required to deliver training across New Zealand.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering operational training and facilitation.
• Experience supporting managers and staff with on‑the‑job learning.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi and their implications for the Ministry of Justice.
