Trainer

About the role

Silver Fern Farms is seeking an enthusiastic Trainer to join the Takapau team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging training programmes, supporting onboarding, and working closely with group leaders and management to ensure staff can perform their jobs safely and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver on‑job training sessions for new and existing employees.
• Coordinate onboarding activities and liaise with departmental leaders.
• Maintain accurate training documentation and align programmes with industry unit standards.
• Support a drug‑ and alcohol‑free workplace by ensuring compliance with screening policies.
• Provide feedback and make operational decisions to improve training effectiveness.

Required profile

• Experience in a training or development capacity.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to think quickly and make sound operational decisions.
• Tech‑savvy with a comfort for working with systems and processes.
• Knowledge of modern meat‑processing site requirements is an advantage.
