Trained Reliever (Casual) – Ngātea

About the role

Central Kids is seeking casual Trained Relievers to join the Ngātea team. You will support children (tamariki) and families (whānau) on a day‑to‑day basis, helping them achieve their full potential in a culturally responsive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality early childhood education and care across multiple service sites.
• Cover permanent staff on a short‑term or day‑to‑day basis, ensuring continuity of learning.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and environmentally respectful setting.
• Uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships with children and families.

Required profile

• Willingness to work in various locations within the Central North Island.
• Passion for positive learning outcomes and developing future leaders.
• Adaptable, flexible and open to different environments.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi based partnerships.

Required skills

• Level 7 teaching qualification specialising in Early Childhood Education or Primary.
• Current practising teaching certificate.
• Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
