Traffic Management Coordinator

About the role

The Traffic Management Coordinator will lead the delivery of safe and compliant traffic management services across the district’s transport network. You will act as the primary point of contact for all works and events on the road reserve, ensuring they meet legislation, codes of practice and best‑practice guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Road Corridor Manager, ensuring compliance with the National Code of Practice for Utility Operators.
• Review, approve and coordinate Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for temporary works and events.
• Prioritise and schedule works that affect the road corridor to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Liaise with utility operators, neighbouring authorities, emergency services and other stakeholders.
• Manage road closures, special permits and related traffic management activities.
• Audit and inspect work sites, providing advice and training to ensure compliance.
• Support Council health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.

Required profile

• Seasoned professional with extensive experience in temporary traffic management and corridor access.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements for transport networks.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive problem‑solver capable of handling multiple priorities.
