Trade Team Member (Part-time)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Trade Team Member to join our Mitre 10 store in Gisborne. This part‑time role involves supporting the Trade Team across the yard, drive‑through and Trade Counter, delivering excellent customer service to trade customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers in the yard, drive‑through and Trade Counter, ensuring they have the products needed to complete their jobs.
• Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system efficiently.
• Lift and move timber and other building materials, maintaining a tidy and safe work environment.
• Process checkout transactions quickly and accurately.
• Maintain high standards of department presentation and follow security procedures.

Required profile

• Physical fitness to lift materials and stay on your feet throughout the shift.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to manage a varied workload and follow instructions.
• Full driver’s licence; willingness to obtain a forklift licence if not already held.
• Passion for customer service and strong communication skills.
• Reliability, good time‑management and attention to detail.

Required skills

• POS system operation.
• Cash handling.
• Forklift operation (or ability to obtain licence).
