Timber Machinist & Operator

About the role

Prolam, New Zealand’s leading engineered timber manufacturer, is seeking skilled Timber Machinists and Operators to join its production team. You will work hands‑on with specialised machinery to produce high‑quality glulam beams and posts, supporting the heart of the country’s engineered timber industry.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate timber‑processing machines safely to meet daily production targets.
• Run laminating equipment to fabricate beams according to precise specifications.
• Monitor product quality, make real‑time adjustments, and ensure consistent output.
• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe workplace environment.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth production flow.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience operating machines in a factory or timber‑production setting.
• Safety‑focused mindset with a commitment to following procedures.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong eye for quality.
• Reliable team player with good communication skills.
