Test Engineer 2 – Manufacturing Test Engineering

About the role

Lam Research is seeking a Test Engineer 2 to join its Manufacturing Test Engineering team in Kulim. In this role you will design and implement efficient testing methods for new semiconductor products, improve quality, and reduce cycle time across the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineering and pilot groups to develop test fixtures, procedures, specifications and control charts for new products.
• Validate new test software and fixtures, and maintain SAP functions for manufacturing.
• Define, design, build, calibrate, troubleshoot and support all manufacturing test fixtures.
• Create and modify test scripts, preferably using Python, to automate test sequences.
• Analyze first‑pass yield, trend data and factory non‑conformances to drive product quality improvements.
• Resolve test issues with suppliers, supplier engineering, pilot manufacturing and design engineering.
• Present test fixture designs, processes and specification changes at engineering design reviews.
• Define and implement metrics to continuously improve test processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in test engineering or development with strong knowledge of C#, Python or other scripting languages.
• Technical writing ability to document designs, procedures and specifications.
• Proven problem‑solving skills and experience in electrical circuit testing and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Management processes and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
