Technical Officer

About the role

The Technical Officer leads the Quality Assessors team, ensuring that quality control and food safety programmes are effectively implemented and meet production, customer, regulatory and internal standards. This full‑time position is based at the Waitōtara site and reports to the Technical Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Quality Assessors team.
• Assure management and external auditors that food safety and quality programmes are performing as required.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
• Support the team in meeting daily production and quality targets.
• Analyse data, conduct root‑cause investigations and present findings clearly.

Required profile

• Experience as an Internal Auditor or Quality Systems Specialist.
• Previous leadership experience in a production or food‑processing environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or related field (beneficial).
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across the organisation.
