About the role
We are looking for an experienced people leader to head the Workplace Support team at Auckland Council. The role oversees reception, shared spaces, meeting rooms and other workplace facilities, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for staff and visitors. You will work closely with Workplace Services Business Partners and a wide range of stakeholders to continuously improve service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, develop and support a team of Workplace Support professionals.
- Maintain reception areas, communal spaces, meeting rooms and facilities to high standards.
- Support workplace events, activities and change initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement service improvements.
- Ensure workplace guidelines, communications and processes align with council policies.
- Promote and uphold health, safety and wellbeing practices across all workplace environments.
Required profile
- Proven people‑leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Background in workplace operations, facilities, hospitality or customer service.
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Continuous‑improvement mindset and ability to identify service enhancements.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using workplace technology systems.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements.
