Team Leader Planning – Strategic Health & Social Care

About the role

This newly established position within the Strategy division of the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership leads the day‑to‑day operations of the planning team. You will manage planning officers and help shape high‑quality strategic plans that drive transformation, service improvement and delivery across health and social care.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning team’s activities and ensure timely delivery of strategic plans.
• Develop and maintain evidence‑based plans using data analysis.
• Collaborate with senior managers to embed a strong planning function across the partnership.
• Build and sustain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the service manager for planning in the design and implementation of improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in service planning within a health and social care environment.
• Solid understanding of health and social care policy and legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work in complex, multi‑functional settings and lead a team.
