Team Leader – High Court (Criminal)

About the role

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a permanent Team Leader for the High Court in Auckland. This senior operational role focuses on delivering timely criminal and civil justice services by leading a dedicated team within the court registry.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day priorities, allocate resources and oversee the flow of cases through the High Court.
• Lead, coach and develop staff to achieve high performance and meet service standards.
• Conduct performance appraisals, staff reviews and coordinate training programmes.
• Collect and analyse statistics to monitor service delivery.
• Exercise statutory powers as required and ensure compliance with court procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading, managing and coaching teams to high performance.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering justice services.
• Interest or knowledge of the justice sector.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
