Team Leader – High Court (Criminal)

About the role

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a permanent Team Leader for the High Court in Auckland. This senior operational role focuses on delivering timely justice services by leading a dedicated team handling both criminal and civil matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day work priorities and allocate resources across the court registry.
• Ensure the smooth flow of criminal and civil cases through the High Court.
• Conduct performance appraisals, staff reviews and provide coaching for high performance.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for team members.
• Collect and analyse statistics to monitor service delivery.
• Exercise statutory powers as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading, managing and coaching staff to achieve high performance.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence.
• Interest or knowledge of the justice sector.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
