About the role

The Te Akura Lead will drive transformational investment opportunities for Waikato‑Tainui, working closely with tribal members and marae to build capability and prepare investment‑ready applications. This newly created position focuses on sustainable prosperity for future generations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and lead strategic investment projects that align with Waikato‑Tainui’s long‑term goals.
• Empower marae and paakihi by providing capability‑building support and growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with tribal members to strengthen organisational capacity and readiness for investment.
• Shape and champion a role that contributes to sustainable economic development across the iwi.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading investment or strategic development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Māori cultural contexts and community development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with tribal stakeholders and deliver results.
