Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead our tasting room and hospitality operations at Clos Henri, an organic estate in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. The role combines wine tourism, cellar‑door service and event coordination, reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager. It is a full‑time permanent position with seasonal hours.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct wine tastings and guide visitors through the estate’s story.
• Build and maintain the cellar‑door reputation, aiming to become a must‑see destination for domestic and international guests.
• Lead, motivate and schedule the small hospitality and wine‑tourism team.
• Design and implement wine‑tourism experiences and programmes aligned with brand values.
• Grow visitor numbers, wine‑club sign‑ups and online store registrations.
• Develop and manage partnerships with local tourism operators and businesses.
• Create and execute a cohesive visitor‑management strategy and a 5‑year improvement plan for the cellar door, accommodation project and trade/media visits.
• Oversee budgets, monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growth, highlighting sustainable practices.
