Talent Acquisition Manager – Central Bank

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape talent acquisition at New Zealand’s Central Bank, Te Pūtea Matua. As the Manager Talent you will direct a high‑performing team responsible for attracting, sourcing, selecting and onboarding talent across the organisation, while also shaping the overall talent strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an enterprise‑wide talent strategy that integrates workforce planning, talent pipelines and candidate experience.
• Lead the talent acquisition team in delivering recruitment operations, talent pooling and early‑career programmes such as scholarships, internships and graduate pathways.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide thought leadership, challenge conventional approaches and identify opportunities for a sustainable talent advantage.
• Champion continuous improvement, ensuring recruitment processes are innovative, inclusive and efficient.
• Foster a collaborative, curious and excellence‑driven culture within the People and Culture function.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Workforce Planning or broader People & Culture functions.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering talent strategies and candidate attraction initiatives that create long‑term organisational value.
• Passion for early‑career development and building diverse capability pipelines.
• Strong commercial and strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable outcomes.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with an inclusive leadership style.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori.
