Systems Specialist

About the role

The Observability Squad at ASB is looking for a Systems Specialist to maintain and support high‑availability infrastructure services across the bank’s technology platforms. You will focus on operational excellence, learning how large enterprise environments run, and building strong engineering habits that ensure secure and reliable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day operational tasks to keep platforms stable and secure
• Monitor platform health and respond to incoming service requests
• Support Microsoft and Linux patching and security updates
• Manage and renew certificates and other security artefacts
• Carry out regular checks to ensure systems operate within capacity thresholds
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational runbooks
• Work towards automation and best‑practice implementation
• Follow change, incident, and problem management processes
• Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to troubleshoot and improve services

Required profile

• Infrastructure engineer or professional ready to deepen enterprise systems expertise
• Comfortable with core technical concepts and eager to learn
• Committed to doing foundational tasks well, understanding their critical impact
