Systems Accountant

About the role

This newly created Systems Accountant position is within a large, values‑led not‑for‑profit organisation in New Zealand. The role sits in the central finance function and is responsible for ensuring the organisation’s finance systems are fit for purpose, well‑governed and continuously improved.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance core finance systems, primarily TechOne, to support timely and accurate reporting.
• Perform end‑to‑end system administration, including upgrades, integrations and ongoing improvements.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and documentation related to finance systems.
• Create and deliver training materials to enable effective system use across the organisation.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams to support financial management outcomes, such as AP automation projects and reporting enhancements.

Required profile

• Proactive self‑starter comfortable taking ownership of finance systems.
• Open to candidates with varied backgrounds, including recent graduates, assistant accountants with TechOne exposure, or professionals with experience in other FMIS seeking to work with TechOne.
• Values‑driven and aligned with purpose‑led, not‑for‑profit work.

Required skills

• Experience with TechOne finance system.
