Symbolic AI Specialist - Fully Remote

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Symbolic AI Specialist to work remotely on cutting‑edge data creation for large language models. You will apply your expertise in automated planning and symbolic AI to generate high‑quality training problems and improve model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce complex domain‑specific problems for state‑of‑the‑art LLMs.
• Evaluate AI model outputs and refine data sets through rigorous analysis.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams to enhance training data relevance.
• Work independently to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Provide expert insights on automated planning and symbolic AI to guide future innovations.

Required profile

• PhD or advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or Operations Research.
• Specialization in automated planning or symbolic AI.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
