Surgical Account Manager – NZ

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Surgical Account Manager to drive sales growth of cataract consumables across New Zealand. You will be the primary Alcon contact for surgical accounts, ensuring smooth coordination, strong relationships and successful commercial execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own total Alcon sales performance for cataract consumables, including Phaco Paks, Custom Paks and other cat consumables.
• Develop and execute account plans for cataract‑dominant and selected monofocal IOLs.
• Generate demand, negotiate contracts and prepare quotes, collaborating with product experts as needed.
• Map decision‑making processes, build relationships with key stakeholders and drive value‑based selling.
• Coordinate specialist activities, lead local events and monitor competitor actions.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of sales experience in medical devices or pharma within a surgical environment.
• Deep knowledge of cataract procedures, equipment, consumables and IOL offerings.
• Strong customer‑orientation, negotiation and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM applications, specifically Salesforce.
• Experience using budget impact models to demonstrate value.
