Supportability Engineer – Integrated Product Support

About the role

Join Babcock’s Engineering Change team in Devonport, Auckland, supporting critical naval capabilities for the Royal New Zealand Navy. As an Integrated Product Support (IPS) Engineer you will ensure defence assets remain reliable, maintainable and operational throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Influence equipment design, maintenance strategies and sparing solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, reliability analyses and improvement plans.
• Perform FMEA/FMECA, LORA and RAM analyses on complex maritime systems.
• Manage NATO codification, NSN allocation and asset sustainment activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver cost‑effective support solutions.

Required profile

• Technical background in supportability, logistics or asset management within maritime, defence or complex‑asset environments.
• Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability, availability and sparing concepts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical publications.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work with stakeholders across disciplines.
