Student Engagement Coordinator - Sustainability

About the role
The Student Engagement Coordinator will work within the Sustainability Office to facilitate, promote, plan and coordinate activities that nurture a culture of sustainability among University of Otago students. This role serves as the central point for student engagement initiatives, helping raise awareness, foster belonging and embed sustainable practices across the campus.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and coordinate sustainability‑focused programmes and events for students.
- Act as the liaison for student engagement initiatives across the university.
- Increase community awareness and knowledge of sustainable practices.
- Support the launch and delivery of the Green Impact programme.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading engagement programmes with measurable social and environmental outcomes.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to prioritise and deliver several projects concurrently.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in a tertiary or university environment is preferred.
- Awareness of current sustainability communication and behaviour‑change trends.
