Student Counselor

About the role

The Student Counselor provides comprehensive counseling services to students, supporting their academic, personal, social, and career development. This full‑time position creates a confidential environment where students can explore challenges and develop effective strategies for success.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions for students.
• Consult with faculty, staff, and parents, and refer students to appropriate on‑ and off‑campus resources.
• Develop and deliver outreach programs, workshops, and events that promote student well‑being and mental‑health awareness.
• Assess student needs, evaluate counseling interventions, and produce annual reports.
• Supervise junior psychologists and coordinate the annual counseling calendar.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field (or BA/BSc in Psychology).
• 3–5 years of experience providing counseling services in a higher‑education setting.
• Strong knowledge of student development theory and counseling techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
