Store Manager – Lead Albany MEGA Store

About the role

Lead one of New Zealand’s most high‑profile retail operations as Store Manager of the Albany MEGA store. Based on‑site in Albany, Auckland, you will oversee a multi‑million‑dollar home‑improvement business and shape both commercial strategy and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a large, multi‑department team to deliver exceptional results.
• Set and execute commercial and operational strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets.
• Embed a culture of excellence across customer service, safety, merchandising and team engagement.
• Ensure operational efficiency in inventory, people management, financial control and compliance.
• Drive innovation through continuous improvement, partnerships and community engagement.

Required profile

• Proven senior retail leadership experience in large‑format, high‑volume environments.
• Track record of delivering strong financial outcomes through commercial insight and operational discipline.
• Exceptional people leadership – developing, motivating and empowering large, diverse teams.
• Operational expertise in merchandising, stock management, forecasting and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Deep understanding of New Zealand’s retail environment, employment legislation and customer trends.
• At least 5 years relevant senior leadership experience or a NZQF Level 5+ qualification aligned to ANZSCO Skill Level 2.
