Staff Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Security Engineer to join Auror’s Product & Engineering Security pillar. In this hands‑on role you will live in the codebase, ship patches, and raise the security posture of our platform from within, helping retailers fight organised retail crime.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls, tooling, and architecture across multiple systems.
• Write, review, and ship security fixes directly in production.
• Lead security investigations, architecture reviews and define security patterns and guardrails.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed security into product development.
• Mentor engineers and promote secure coding practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior‑level security engineer or equivalent.
• Strong ownership mindset – you pick up tickets, write the fix, open PRs and ship changes.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑moving, AI‑augmented environment.
• Excellent communication skills to influence technical decisions.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of software security principles and secure coding.
• Experience with security tooling, vulnerability remediation, and architecture reviews.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development pipelines.
