Specialty Doctor – Palliative Medicine (up to 32 hrs/week)

About the role

Ardgowan Hospice is seeking an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine to join its multidisciplinary team. The role provides middle‑tier medical cover across inpatient and community settings in Inverclyde, with senior support available at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Provide middle‑tier medical cover across inpatient and community settings.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑5 non‑residential on‑call rota.
• Collaborate with senior medical staff for complex cases.
• Contribute to quality improvement projects and clinical governance activities.
• Deliver education and training to multidisciplinary team members.

Required profile

• At least four years of postgraduate medical experience.
• Interest or experience in palliative medicine.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise clinical and non‑clinical tasks.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
