Specialty Doctor in Oral Medicine

About the role

The NHS Lothian Dental Institute is seeking a full‑time Specialty Doctor in Oral Medicine to join its consultant‑led service. Working 10 programmed activities per week (Monday‑Friday) at the Lauriston Building, the post offers the opportunity to support a tiered oral medicine pathway for patients in Edinburgh.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver oral medicine clinical services within the Edinburgh Dental Institute.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, Professional Lead, and the wider dental team.
• Contribute to service development and multidisciplinary patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to NHS standards.

Required profile

• Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
• Minimum four years of full‑time postgraduate dental training with demonstrable oral medicine experience.
• Ability to work flexibly with a start date that can be negotiated.
