Software Engineer (TypeScript/Python) – Hybrid, Auckland

About the role

Azonic is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain the core platform that powers its intelligence investigations. You will work directly with the founders on production‑grade systems, contributing to both the analyst interfaces and the backend services that process investigative data. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and is hybrid, based in Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the product interfaces used by analysts.
• Build and maintain data pipelines that aggregate investigative sources.
• Design, implement, and own end‑to‑end features from conception to production.
• Collaborate with founders on code reviews and architectural decisions.
• Ensure reliability and performance of services under real‑world load.

Required profile

• Comfortable writing production code in TypeScript or Python.
• Proven track record of shipping functional software (e.g., production projects, serious side‑projects, or open‑source contributions).
• Prefer delivering solid, working solutions quickly over perfect but delayed ones.
• Reliable working hours and clear written communication for asynchronous collaboration.
